Blurred vision isn’t always the first sign of an issue with the eye. Many eye diseases and conditions develop with few noticeable symptoms. Regular eye exams and early intervention can help detect risks associated with eye disease and help you maintain good vision and healthy eyes. We offer a visual field test that can detect problems with central and peripheral vision caused by factors including stroke, glaucoma, brain tumor or other neurological problems.
OCT: Ocular Coherence Tomography
If an eye exam shows defects and signs of possible eye disease, then you may need Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) testing. OCT uses ultrasound technology to map your eye’s retina by showing all of its layers and their thickness. These measurements are important in detecting retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, vitreomacular traction and detachments of the neurosensory retina.
Want to switch your glasses for contact lenses? Let us know so we can schedule a lens fitting. A lens fitting is done in addition to your regular eye exam. During a lens fitting, the optometrist will measure your cornea along with your pupil and iris to make sure that you are a candidate for lenses. If you are, the measurements will be used to ensure your eyes have the best fitting lens for optimal comfort and wear. If you’ve been told in years past that contacts would not work for you, you should know that contact lenses have evolved; we now offer contact lenses for astigmatism and bifocal contacts.
